Homies are plastic figurines which were introduced in the year 1998 and were sold out through different vending machines already present in the markets. They measures upto 2 inches in length and later they became a common aspect among the younger generation and became a major collectible.
Earlier, there were problems related to the sale of the homies as they were considered to be the figures which enhanced gang life. Due to this rule, many of the stores stopped the sale of the homies. It was only later they started to be used again and chain super markets like Walmart played a significant role in bringing the sale of homies back to the normal position.
